Virtual flute: play bansuri, pan flute and concert flute online
Play flute melodies without breath control: your number keys cover the finger holes. Choose a Western concert flute, an Indian bansuri (bamboo flute) with notes shown as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni, a pan flute or a Native American flute.
There are also silver, alto and bass flutes and the piccolo, on six finger holes with settings for vibrato, reverb and tuning systems such as just intonation.
How to play the flute with your computer keyboard
- On the silver, alto and bass flutes and the piccolo, number keys 1–6 play the six finger holes (C5 to A5).
- On the concert flute, bansuri, pan flute and Native American flute, keys 1–8 play a full scale; the bansuri shows sargam names Sa to Sa.
- Click or tap a hole to play it with the mouse or on a phone.
- Follow the song guides for Twinkle Twinkle, Happy Birthday, Ode to Joy and Amazing Grace.

Frequently asked questions
How do I play flute on my computer keyboard?
Press the number keys: 1 to 6 (or 1 to 8 on the concert flute and bansuri) each cover a finger hole. Hold a key to hold the note.
Can I practise bansuri notes online?
Yes. Open the bansuri from the flute types. Its notes are labelled in sargam (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni), so you can practise swaras without a real flute.
Is the virtual flute free?
Yes. The flute is free to play in your browser with no download and no sign-up. You can record and save favourites without an account; a free sign-in adds music rooms and Google Drive backup.
Is there a pan flute simulator?
Yes. Pick the pan flute from the flute types and play it with the number keys or by tapping.
